Mission - North Country Supervisory Union will educate students to become effective communicators, problem solvers, reflective thinkers, ethical productive citizens, and life-long learners while embracing their diversity.
November 2008

The North Country Supervisory Union is responsible for the education of students in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont towns of Brighton, Charleston, Coventry, Derby, Holland, Jay, Lowell, Morgan, Newport City, Newport Town, Troy and Westfield.  There are ten elementary schools in the Supervisory Union, as well as preschool programs and the Encore After-School and Summer Program. The North Country Union Junior High School in Derby is home to approximately 275 seventh through eighth grade students from seven of those towns, while North Country Union High School and the North Country Career Center host more than 800 ninth through twelfth grade students from all twelve member districts. By land area of the towns in Vermont, North Country Supervisory Union is the largest supervisory union in the state.

Nestled between the Green Mountains and the Connecticut River in northern Vermont, the Northeast Kingdom comprises the three northeastern-most counties of the state -- Caledonia, Essex, and Orleans counties. Vermont's largest and least populated region, the Northeast Kingdom is treasured by residents and visitors alike for its natural resources, traditional landscapes and lifestyles that have made the Vermont experience one to be cherished. It is a region that resonates with those who seek personal growth and development.
